By focusing on the timing of hormone release from targeted muscle activations, we ensure that each exercise in a sequence is maximized for its hormonal impact. For example, during high-intensity resistance training, the vastus lateralis is known to produce and release Irisin. This hormone plays a key role in converting white fat to brown fat, significantly enhancing caloric burn. By sequencing exercises to engage the quadriceps at a point when the metabolic rate is elevated, Irisin release is optimized, leading to more effective fat utilization and energy expenditure.

Interleukin-6 (IL-6), another crucial hormone, is predominantly released from smaller muscles, like the deltoids during overhead pressing movements.
